Square 1 is on again! Each year a group of St Matt's kids in Years 3-6 head down to Youthworks Port Hacking Conference Centre for a weekend of age-appropriate Bible teaching and fun activities.
Kids have the opportunity to enjoy the big camp experience with friends and familiar leaders with time in big and small groups, messy activities, swimming, singing, dress ups and more.
This year we will be thinking about what it means to be human. We’ll be thinking about how kids (and all people) can be who they truly are when they know the God who made them, when they live rightly in the story that God has placed them in and when they know the future that God has planned for them.
Join us as we hear from Dr John Burns as he shares his insights on “ A Stitch in Time - What every parent can do to create emotionally healthy kids”.
Dr John Burns is a clinical psychologist who has spent the last 20 years specialising in the mental health of young people. He currently works counselling adolescents in a school. His clinical and research interests are in the prevention and early detection of mental health difficulties.
In addition to his clinical work, John is the National Convener of the Australian Psychological Society’s Psychologists in Schools Interest Group and an Honorary Associate at the Centre for Emotional Health at Macquarie University.

Join the men of St Matts as they head to Katoomba to hear Paul Tripp speaking at BASECAMP this year! And Mal Gill is returning with patterns and practical tips to help men pray.
BASECAMP is an annual event for men who want to know God better.
Since 1997, men of all generations and from across denominations have taken time out to gather together and hear God speak. Each year, men have encouraged each other to run the race with their eyes fixed on Jesus.
At BASECAMP you will:
- Hear God's word taught and applied to men.
- Get practical wisdom to live well.
- Slow down and be reminded of what's important.
- Be inspired by men who have gone before you.
- Build better relationships with your Christian brothers.
- Enjoy great food in memorable meal times.
- Be refreshed by God's life-giving grace.

Over the winter months we like to share meals together. We call these Winter Warmers.
If you would like to be involved let us know if you would like to HOST or ATTEND a meal at someone else's house and which dates you available. We will match you up with others from St Matt's and then together you can work out the finer details.
To make these meals easier on the hosts these are meals where everyone brings part of the meal to share. Once you know your group you can work out food intolerances, who will bring what and what time you will meet together.
Does God speak to us through the Bible?
Is the Bible trustworthy?
Should we do what the Bible says even though it's ancient?
Our annual youth camp - Winter Chill - is on again. Come and join SMASH 68 & SMASH as we head up to Katoomba to discover how the Bible is God's Words of Life. You'll also get to know others your own age, play games, sing together and for those in senior years there's time for study in the program.
The dress up themed dinner this year is 'Farm'
Who: Years 6-12
When: Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd June
A rare opportunity for the women of St Matt's to rest from the busyness of work, home & family and spend time alone with God and in fellowship. There is time to relax and chat, go for a walk, share a meal, or simply have time alone. We will also spend some time together in prayer and reading the Bible, as we think about HEAVEN and what the bible tells us it will be like.
From Friday evening to Sunday, come for the whole weekend or just a few hours. We will contribute a small amount to cover food but accommodation is free. There is plenty of space and no time pressures. Come and enjoy.
WHAT IS KYCK?
KYCK is a conference for High Schoolers held over 3 weekends in the Blue Mountains. During that time over 6000 young people will gather to hear God speak in His word. At KYCK hundreds of young people respond to God's saving grace in Jesus and are challenged to live for Him in the world.
In 2018 we'll be looking at 1 Peter and how this world is not our home.
We have much to do as we live in response to the gospel of Jesus and follow a saviour who is from OUT OF THIS WORLD.
This year at KYCK, we will be hearing from 3 great speakers - Matt Sparks, Sam Low and Danny Mitchell.
Why not read 1 Peter together as a youth group? Some groups get a lot out of reading the passage or Bible book before they head up to KYCK together!
