Our Staff Team
Mike Turner is the Acting Senior Minister at St Matt's.
Prior to studying at Moore (Bible) College, Mike studied Ancient History at Macquarie University, then undertook a ministry internship at St Paul's Anglican Church Castle Hill. Mike, his wife and 4 kids love being locals. Mike is passionate about seeing people grow and mature in their relationship with Jesus and what it looks like to live with the return of Jesus in mind.
Mike is involved in Night church, preaching, leading and the youth group (SMASH) at St Matt's. Mike enjoys running, cycling, reading, gardening, hanging with the family and road trip holidays.
Christine Semple is the part time Children's and Women's Worker at St Matt's.
Christine is responsible for overseeing the large kids program that takes place each Sunday morning at St Matt's. She is also committed to helping the women of St Matt's love Jesus and grow in their knowledge of our great God.
Christine is married to Paul and together they have 2 gorgeous girls. They live locally and have been part of the St Matt's family for 8 years.
Christine is passionate about the grace of God, having received God's free gift of salvation when she was in her early 20's. She loves the inner west, cooking & baking, chocolate, movies and discovering new things about people.
Chris Conyers is the Assistant Minister at St Matt's.
Chris is married to Susan, and they have five children. His role at St Matt’s includes running KASAM (for years 3-5 on Friday afternoons) and occasional preaching on Sundays. During the rest of the week, Chris studies for a PhD in New Testament at Moore College, tutors for the college’s online Diploma, helps manage his crowded household, sleeps when he can, and drinks coffee. He takes great delight in passing on to his children his love of Jesus, board games, and cricket.
Caleb Harris is the Student Minister at St Matt's.
Caleb is a third-year student at Sydney Missionary and Bible College and would love to see everyone in Ashbury and Croydon Park come to know the Risen Lord Jesus, who defeated sin and death and who is coming again to fix the world. Before joining the St Matt’s community, Caleb was awarded the Graduate Diploma of Divinity through Ridley Theological College. Prior to this, Caleb completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of New England in Armidale, graduating with a triple major in International History, Political Science and German Language.
Caleb is a passionate Holden driver and enjoys learning several European languages, alongside his studies!
Janet Hunter is the part time Office Administrator at St Matt's.
Janet is married to Alan and they have been blessed with two boys. She is responsible for providing administrative support and co-ordinating activities at St Matt’s. Janet is committed to assisting the St Matt’s congregation as she continues on her own journey of faith and devotion.
Janet’s hobbies include her family, cooking, DIY, gardening, tennis, and organising play dates for her sons.
