Options for alternate craft material

Needle.jpg

  • Instead of foam sheets, try cardstock paper or recycled cardboard boxes, covered with red paper or coloured in red.

  • Instead of suede lace, try wool, string or ribbon.

  • you can make an improvised lacing “needle” by folding a 10cm length of pipe cleaner.

Craft materials needed for next week

(Please note that the craft will need more adult supervision as it involves using the hairdryer to melt crayon.)

  • Newspaper, butcher paper or something similar to protect your working surface

  • Non stick baking paper

  • Duct tape

  • Blues and green crayons that the child will shave with a sharpener to create wax shavings

  • Pencil sharpener

  • Clear sticky tape

  • String

  • Wooden dowel, or disposable chopstick or something long and skinny

  • Scissors

  • A hairdryer
